Are you a Boston Qualifying Marathon?
Yes, we are a Boston Qualifier!

Race Day Weather
The temperature in the middle of May in the Poconos averages a low of 45°F and a high of 72°F. For a current weather forecast as race day approaches, please click here.

Traveling to the Area
There are a few options for traveling to the Stroudsburg area. The nearest airports are about 45 minutes away and are small – Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton airport (ABE) and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton airport (AVP). Due to their size, airfare into these airports is generally slightly more expensive. A cab can be taken from Lehigh Valley airport (ABE) to Stroudsburg. The closest larger airports are Philadelphia (PHL) and Newark (EWR). We recommend renting a car from these locations, as they are about an hour and a half away.

Places to Stay
Information about the host hotel can be found on our home page. We are working to team up with other hotels in the area to get special runner's rates and will post other hotel information on the website as soon as it becomes available.

Registration and Pasta Party
Registration and packet pickup is set for Saturday, May 19th from 10 am until 5 pm at the Pocono Plaza Inn (formerly named Quality Inn.) While there, be sure to check out the FREE Runner's Expo. The pasta party runs from 5 pm until 8 pm and marathon runners can enjoy all the wonderful food for FREE! The Pasta Party is $7.00 for all non-marathon runners. For more information on all of pre-race events, please click here.)

Packet Pickup
There is a $25 fee for race day packet pickup. You do have the option to have someone else pick it up for you at registration, in the event that you may know another participant. Our Facebook community is quite friendly and you might be able to find someone to help you out if you are having trouble making it to the host hotel the day before the race. If someone else is picking up your packet for you on Saturday, they must have a copy of your driver's license with them!
Please note that the fee is in place because our race staff is relatively small and we are trying to encourage pickup on registration day to minimize the amount of staff needed on race morning. The $25 fee, just like the race entry fee, goes directly to the American Red Cross.

Course Information
Please visit the Course Information page for all of the details on this year's race.

Half Marathon
Because of limitations as to how many people our start and halfway point can handle, we are simply not equipped at this time to make a half marathon available. Instead we encourage you to grab a buddy and enter our Marathon Relay. If you are in need of a partner, please visit our Facebook page and perhaps you can find someone else in need of a relay team member.

Cap on Amount of Runners
The Pocono Mountains Run for the Red Marathon caps the runner registration at 2,000. As you can see from last year's results, we had about 800 runners. As of our 2011 race, we have never sold out a race. The reason for the 2,000 runner cap is because that is the absolute highest number of people our course can accommodate.

Clothing Bags
Clothing bags are available to runners at the start of the race. Those clothing bags are marked with the runner's bib number and are transported to the finish of the race.
